Today's Happy Topic: Fifth Generation Warfare & Sovereignty (video) and Staying Up-to-Date on Canadian Legislation
With Dr. Robert Malone and Andrew DeBartolo
Hello Good Neighbours!
Excellent presentation below from Dr. Malone, even if a little unsettling. There is much passion in his voice; he is usually measured, acutely articulate, and very knowledgeable.
In this presentation, he is all those things, but you can feel his intensity - his strength and vulnerability in one powerful and moving swoop. He is revealing more of himself to us, because his conscience continues to be deeply moved and convicted and he won’t look away. He is speaking in stronger tones, to move us off our perch.
How are you utilizing your strengths and vulnerabilities?
Who are you powerfully revealing yourself to?
What is moving your conscience and what are you doing about it?
How are you spreading love and truth?
How are you empowering others?
But first, an article written by Andrew DeBartolo in which he shares a collection of current Canadian laws and legislation impacting 2023 and beyond.
Thank you Andrew!

Staying Up-To-Date on Canadian Legislation
by Andrew DeBartolo
I know that we’re all pretty busy with a lot going on right now. Those of us in farming (homesteading or commercial) are getting ready for a very busy season. We’re also in the midst of tax season, which is quite time-consuming, especially for those of us who work in finances. As we prepare to exit the Winter, those of us with children are preparing for sports and activities that will fill up our schedule.
When we have so much on-the-go, it’s sometimes difficult to keep up to date with what’s happening on a Federal level, specifically with regard to laws and legislation. I want to provide a brief list of some new laws and policies that are coming into effect in 2023, as well as some concluding thoughts.
Minimum wage increases
5 Provinces in Canada will see increases to the minimum wage, bringing it up to $15. They are Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Prince Edward Island, Nova Scotia, and Newfoundland. This trend will continue in other Provinces in 2024 and beyond.
New CRA tax rules
The CPP contribution rate for 2023 is rising to 5.95%, and to 11.9% for self-employed Canadians. Employment Insurance premiums are rising, too, with a federal contribution rate for employees of 1.63%.
Banning single-use plastics
By the end of 2023, the sale of items in disposable plastic containers will be banned. Plastic ring carriers will be banned for sale in June, 2024. In December 2025, manufacturing, import, and export for sale of items in disposable plastic containers will be prohibited.
Carbon price increases
On April 1, the federal carbon tax will increase to $65 a tonne, from $50 a tonne in 2022. The price is set to rise by $15 a tonne annually for an eventual target of $170 a tonne in 2030. The increase means consumers will pay 14.3 cents a litre of gasoline in fuel charges in 2023, about 3.3 cents higher than last year.

Bill C-11 – The internet censorship Bill
Bill C-11, which grants the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission (CRTC) vague and vast powers to regulate online content in Canada, has passed in the Canadian Senate and is awaiting final approval from the House of Commons.
Bill C-21 – The gun-control legislation
Bill C-21, among many things, freezes the purchase and transfer of handguns, creates “red flag” laws (a person’s firearms can be removed for 30 days if they pose a risk to themselves or others), and looks to impose a mandatory buyback of over 1,500 firearms. The Bill has passed second reading in the House of Commons.
What are some practical solutions that we can all be initiating in our own lives, regardless of what others are doing?
Part of the reason for the Good Neighbour Group, in addition to implementing practical means for supporting ourselves in a crisis, is to encourage and implement connections between community members who are willing to initiate and form relationships and work together every day, every week, every month.
First, consider how you steward, preserve, and protect your resources. Share your ideas with a friend; discuss the idea of a bartering system, or ways to reach more people, and then share your ideas with the Board.
Are you satisfied with your current storage of food and water?
Perhaps begin to tighten up your spending.
Create ways to offset costs to save money for the short term. Hobby farming, homesteading, and simply growing a few vegetables can ease the strain on your wallet. Consider buying things in bulk, especially when they go on sale.
Below is an ad-free App that is focused on authentic connections, including a variety of useful categories (i.e., Farming, Schooling, Preserving, Gear & Survival, Blacksmithing, Foraging, Herbalism, Camper Life, Ham Radio, Ontario, Lifestyle and many more).
Might be worth checking out.
Because there are no ads, it’s about $25/year.
Second, consider becoming part of a faith community, with like-minded believers who share your moral convictions and values.
Finally, consider how you can be wiser with your online activity and strengthen your digital security (see below).
You don’t need to wait for the next meeting to get active. Pick one or two people you know, like and trust and begin talking about and developing ideas that are important to you.
Express your worries, your concerns, your hopes, your plans, your love for life.
Feeling paralyzed? Take a break from digesting content and pick up the phone.
The essence of Dr. Malone’s talk is that you can feel his worries, his concerns, his hopes and his plans. He’s sharing his voice, his knowledge, his heart - with us.
With you.
Who are you sharing your voice and heart with?
We have been bred into a system in which we have become dependent on people and institutions telling us what to do - the government, our boss, our experts, our media, our leaders. Out of convenience, has arrived dependence.
We each need to be defining our role and our power based on what we know of ourselves, regardless of when the next meeting comes.
What if the next meeting never came?
What are you doing to take care of your family and how are you using your voice and abilities in powerful and inspiring ways?

“Go to the ant, O sluggard; consider her ways, and be wise… She prepares her bread in summer and gathers her food in harvest… A little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to rest, and poverty will come upon you like a robber.” – Proverbs 6:6, 8, 10-11a
